New Boats

Emerald Bay Custom Houseboats are truly a custom product. No two boats are ever the same. Each houseboat starts with a general floor plan and approximate size. Customers are encouraged to design the boat for how they are going to use it. We can even make minor design changes throughout the build. If it is just you and your wife, you may want a more luxurious and comfortable boat designed for an adult. If the boat is designed for family fun and the grand-kids; maybe you should get child safe railing and add a water slide. Emerald Bay wants every houseboat they build to be the customer's perfect houseboat, custom built for each customer's lifestyle.

All Emerald Bay Custom Houseboats include a warranty that will cover any structural or mechanical defects. Our warranties are supported by the materials we use in construction. Emerald Bay Houseboats are 5052-T6 aluminum alloy super structures; this means all flotation, structure framing, railing, and tanks (except fuel) are built out of aluminum. This construction method prevents the most common and expensive house boat maintenance issues including but not limited to rust, wood rot, and cracking fiberglass. Partial Builds or "Shell Boats"

Emerald Bay has always offered partial build projects or “shell boats” to customers that wish to finish a houseboat on their own. These customers are usually contractors that have the ability to do interior finish and often have connections to get materials at cost or better. Each partial build is contracted clearly as to what is or is not included. The cost difference in doing a partial build project can often be a key factor that decides whether the customer can afford a new houseboat or not. Some customers save up 40% depending on what stage of the build they decide to take over. Below are a few examples of different stages of construction that the customer could take over and finish the boat them selves.

There is a wide range of construction styles, designs, and materials that allow for endless ideas and possibilities. We encourage customers to choose aluminum pontoons and frame structure because aluminum is light weight, durable, strong, and aluminum does not rust. Steel is an available option with coatings that are available to prevent the rust if steel is desired. The following are some of the options to choose from when designing your custom houseboat. Once again, all Emerald Bay houseboats are fully custom products designed by you; so if you have a new idea or concept in mind, let us hear about it.

Every houseboat at Emerald Bay Houseboats has the opportunity to have all the amenities each customer wants. Below is a general list of options and accessories; anything else you might think of we can probably do too.

Every houseboat begins with a set of plans followed by the appropriate raw materials needed for the build. Every set of pontoons is unique in size to the houseboat they will be accommodating. This is necessary to provide the optimal float height of 20 to 24 inches above water. This provides adequate design for low wake, aero dynamics, and engine performance. The pontoons begin as 12ft x 5ft x 1/8in T6 4043 Aluminum Alloy sheets. Each sheet is then broke to spec to form an individual section (Picture A). The sections are split with bulkheads; so each pontoon is actually a series of air tight chambers. If a chamber were to be punctured in an accident the water would not pass through to the rest of the pontoon. This design allows room for an accident without creating a catastrophe.

Our customers are encouraged to be creative in the process of deciding the floor plan. Just like a custom home, the options for design are nearly endless. Cabins are fabricated with industrial grade galvanized studs. The outside wall is a manufactured gel-coat siding that is available in multiple depths and grades depending on the application. The siding is so strong and durable it actually adds to the structural integrity of the boat. Our houseboats include a lifetime warranty on all structural defects when others in the industry barely mention the word warranty. Customers are rest assured they have a houseboat that is guaranteed to hold the test of time.
